Support Modernizing Antlerless Doe Tag Applications

PA Antlerless License Reform

Support Pennsylvania Senate Bill 431 and the modernization of issuing doe tags in the Keystone State! Senate Bill 431, introduced by former SCI State Legislator of the Year Sen. Dan Laughlin, would do away with the antiquated pink envelopes that are synonymous with antlerless deer tags in Pennsylvania and allow for the sale of antlerless deer hunting tags through the … [Read more...] about Support Modernizing Antlerless Doe Tag Applications

LVSCI continues to support hunters. Each year we donate to organizations like Hunters Helping the Hungry in New Jersey and, in this case, Hunters Sharing the Harvest in Pennsylvania. These groups collect donated meat from hunters and distribute it to families who need a little extra help. LVSCI board members, Joel Batdorf, Keith Blankenhorn, Mike Deasey, Mike Walters and Peter Hoefele along with Past President, Tim Reiger and Dominik Batdorf, met with John Plowman & Randy Ferguson at Cabela's in Hamburg to present them with the check. Thank you to all of you who attend and/or support our banquet each year. Without the monies raised at our March banquet, donations like this would not be possible. ... See MoreSee Less

Federal Subsistence Board proposal (WSA22-02) : Dall sheep hunting on Federal public lands in Unit 24A and Unit 26B, west of the Sagavanirktok River proposal to close hunting to all users for the 2022-2024 wildlife regulatory cycle, this is a decision the Alaska Department of Fish and Game should be making not the Federal Government

When: The FSB has decided to provide an opportunity for public testimony at a time certain on July 26 at 3pm. Federal staff will present their analysis first and then go into testimony.

The number to call is 1-888-455-7761 and the passcode is 4406658

Talking Points to use when you testify:

•The Alaska Department of Fish & Game opposes this special action.
•This closure will not facilitate a population recovery.
•The range of this sheep population falls mostly outside of federal public lands that are proposed to be closed.
•There is a harvestable surplus that exceeds the average annual harvest.
•Sheep populations have recovered under the State’s full-curl management strategy.
•If the proponent and the FSB were serious about this closure then ewe harvest would be at the forefront, not rams.
