Organizations like SCI and the NRA need to work together for the benefit of everyone. With cooperative efforts; wildlife thrives, hunters are represented and our 2nd Amendment is protected. The NRA supports our banquet each year by giving us a life membership to auction off. We support the Friends of the NRA every year with a donation. I had the privilege of attending the Friends of the NRA dinner last night with fellow board members, Mike Walters, Joel Batdorf, and Tim & Kathy Reiger (not pictured) and receive some recognition for our chapter.
Three years ago I introduced Marty Brunson, CEO of Catch-A-Dream Foundation, to the Lehigh Valley Chapter. He attended the 2 live banquets we have had during that time period. At the close of this past weekend, he told me that we are now the #1 chapter in terms of donations to CAD. This weekend alone we raised $14,445.00 to support their cause. We auctioned off a very nice pair of corn hole boards along with our auctioneer's cowboy hat which was passed around the room to fill with donations. The 3 items sold for $4000. The winning bidder donated them back to the chapter and we auctioned them off again for another $4000. That winner donated them back again and we ran it one more time. The winning bidder $3000 donated the cash in the hat to CAD as well for another $1348.
I've said many times...I believe, in general, hunters are are most generous group of people I know.

If you aren't familiar with Catch-A-Dream Foundation, here is their mission & Vision.

Mission
Catch-A-Dream is a national, charitable, non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation, that provides once-in-a-lifetime dream hunting and fishing trips to children across the United States and Canada, age 18 and younger, who suffer from life-threatening illnesses. Through these adventures, and exposure to outdoors-minded people who care, the program instills in these children a message of encouragement at a time when they need to know that hope does, indeed, exist.

Vision
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
On Friday night, I had the proud pleasure of presenting to Craig Kauffman, President of Safari Club International Foundation, a $100,000 donation to the Scott Chapman Conservation Endowment. The endowment was established after Scott's passing as a perpetual fund to enable conservation projects around the world. The money spent by all of you at our annual banquet/auction every year is what facilitates us raising these much-needed funds. Thank you to all who attended and purchased raffle tickets, hunting trips, fishing trips and much more to support our chapter. Also, a big thank you to those who bid from home. Your support is also noted. And thank you to all the donors who offer up their products and services to us. Without you, none of what we do would be possible!!! We had a tremendously successful fundraiser. Mark your calendars for March 10 & 11, 2023 when we will do it all again.
